When To Target Bass

Font size: Decrease font Enlarge font

I was just wondering at what time of the year you guys turn your attentions to Bass?

Replies:

1. "In the S. West, it's usually June 'til October."

2. "Down on the Kentish coast, traditionally May is the time to start targeting bass, though late summer into autumn tends to be most productive."

3. "Some spots around Hampshire/Sussex seem to hold a few all year round, but not enough to make it worth targetting them unless you happen to know a special secret. I take more notice of them in early May, and generally catch through to late October."

4. "May is about your best. Try Blackpool, Southport and Crosby over to New Brighton. Or go to North Wales, some good bass al over in that area."

5. "I was dingy fishing for bass up until the end of November in Lyme bay (no more than 200yds from the shore), and it's the end of the summer that always produces the biggest for me (16lb is the biggest so far)."
