Can you use garden lobworms for sea fishing?

1. "I catch all sorts on them. Codling love them round here (Dungeness to Hythe). However to be effective it needs to have rained hard enough for the EA to have opened the sluices at Rye and Dymchurch. This means a lot of fresh water is dumped into the area , along with lots of worms. For 5 to 6 days after this lobs are a killer bait, but don't tell anyone!"

2. "I have tried them for flatties on the Tyne before, and had some success, but I've never tried them for codling."

3. "Visiting Mudeford Quay after a chub session on the Dorset Stour the only bait I had on me was a single lobworm. It got me a small bass within 90 seconds."

4. "Have had a number of sea fish on lobs. Winter (Channel) whiting love 'em, and I love Winter whiting.

Using lobs is a good idea if you live inland, as you can go down to the coast to fish the best part of the tide with a good supply of bait - especially in the winter, as frantically trying to dig lug in the dark is not a good option (spring tides on the Sussex coast coincide with lows at dawn and dusk)

Cod will take lobs also, although I prefer my cod fishing from a boat over wrecks, using pirks or redgills."

5. "They do work in the bristol channel for codling too - however I always use them with lug and havent tried them on thier own."
