Is it possible to catch bream in the Winter?

Replies:

1. "It's definitely still possible to catch them, the problem is finding them. A couple of seasons ago I had a realy good day on the river catching nice bream in about February when it was realy cold.

I was just fishing the pole, using red maggot and a bit of groundbait, it was a total suprise as I was just expecting roach and chub."

2. "On my local river Exe you can pick good bags of Big bream up during winter.

Caster & worm,Bread flake score well, fish the same as you do in summer just ease up on the loose feed, saying that I have used a medium method coil filled with a vitalin mix and caught during cold winter spells, it's striking the right balance it just depends on numbers of fish to amount of bait you put in, start of with a couple of small balls and build it up. On the Exe we have good head of big bream which will tolerate a suprising amount of feeding once in the swim."
