A type of marine worm primarily found in the lower tidal regions of the bays and rocky beaches in the Channel Islands in heavy clay and within rocky outcrops.
Gathered by digging or smashing rocks to pieces, dynamite optional but time saving. latin marphysa sanguinea. Name originates form local Patois language meaning rock-worm.
