Quivertip: An extremely sensitive rod tip attachment. Usually made from fibreglass or carbon. The quiver tip is inserted as the end section of the rod as an aid to bite detection. As the fish takes the baited hook, the line is pulled. The tug on the line is registered on the delicate tip of the rod by pulling it round further.
